Lunar Module Eagle in Descent

The Lunar Module Eagle is shown making its descent to the lunar surface, photographed from Columbia by Michael Collins. Eagle's descent stage remained on the Moon as a launch platform for the return trip, while its ascent stage later carried Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin back to lunar orbit before being jettisoned into a decaying orbit around the Moon.
