Apollo 15 Rollout to the Pad

The Apollo 15 space vehicle moves from the Vehicle Assembly Building toward Pad A, Launch Complex 39, ahead of the first of Apollo's extended 'J-missions.' The flight introduced the Lunar Roving Vehicle, letting David Scott and Jim Irwin travel miles from their landing site to explore the Hadley-Apennine region and collect an expanded range of geological samples, including the famous 'Genesis Rock.'
